چکیده
In the present work, extended X-ray absorption fine-structure (EXAFS) investigations of Co 69 Fe x Si 21– B 10 ( = 3, 5, 7) glassy ribbons were performed at K -edge. The magnitude first peak Fourier transforms EXAFS signals is found to increase monotonically with increasing concentrations indicating formation localized ordered structure atomic scale. Co–Si coordination number (CN) increases expense CN Co/Fe. Smaller interatomic distances are observed in phase compared that crystalline which promotes stability phase. Calculations thermodynamic parameter P HSS ), cohesive energy E C ) and radius difference (δ) show alloy composition 3 18 has a good glass-forming ability (GFA) highest other compositions. A linear correlation GFA exists also plays crucial role alloys. This should be considered developing different criteria.

Many metal clusters in the 1-nm size range are catalytically active, and their enhanced reactivity is often attributed to their size, structure, morphology, and details of alloying. Synchrotron sources provide a wide range of opportunities for studying catalysis. Among them, extended X-ray absorption fine-structure (EXAFS) spectroscopy is the premier method for investigating structure and compo...

متن کاملThermal Expansion Behaviour of Silver Examined by Extended X-Ray Absorption Fine Structure Spectroscopy
EXAFS (extended X-ray absorption fine structure) investigations are reported concerning the thermal expansion behaviour of silver in an extended range of temperature from 10 K to about 950 K measured in transmission mode. Both the ratio method and an EXAFS fitting procedure were applied to reveal the temperature dependence of EXAFS parameters. Models based on quantum and classical thermodynamic...
متن کاملExtended X-ray absorption fine structure of bimetallic nanoparticles
Electronic and magnetic properties strongly depend on the structure of the material, especially on the crystal symmetry and chemical environment. In nanoparticles, the break of symmetry at the surface may yield different physical properties with respect to the corresponding bulk material. A useful tool to investigate the electronic structure, magnetic behaviour and local crystallographic struct...
